Safetynet Unveils Ambitious Strategic Plan to Transform Inclusive Healthcare

Safetynet Primary Care has launched its Strategic Plan 2025-2028, outlining an ambitious vision for expanding healthcare access to Ireland's most vulnerable populations.

Unveiled by Robert Watt, Secretary General of the Department of Health, at Wynns Hotel, Dublin in September 2024, the plan is built on five strategic pillars: Patients, Employees, Services, Organisation & Governance, and Advocacy & Research.

The plan builds on significant achievements from 2024, including approximately 7,400 GP consultations, health screenings for over 1,300 international protection applicants across 28 accommodation centres, and the operation of mobile health units and open-access clinics across Dublin.

"Today's launch reinforces our commitment to ensuring no one is left behind in Ireland's healthcare system," said Robert Watt at the launch event.

Central to the strategy is Safetynet's commitment to becoming an "employer of choice" for healthcare professionals dedicated to inclusive care, while continuing to advocate for policy changes that address systemic barriers.
