Open Access Clinics

Our open access clinic provides GP and nursing services — with interpreter support — to undocumented migrants, international protection applicants, people experiencing homelessness, and the Roma community.

How this service helps

The open access clinics offer GP and nursing primary care services, with interpreters where required, for specific at-risk populations including undocumented migrants, international protection applicants without access to primary care services, homeless people and the Roma community.

Safetynet Inclusion Health Hub 

The Safetynet Inclusion Health Hub on Amiens Street provides GP-led clinics, nursing services and phlebotomy in a blend of appointment-based and walk-in clinics. This clinic is also one of the few in the homeless sector that sees children.

• Target groups: Vulnerable adults and children without access to mainstream primary care

International Protection Applicant Clinic

These clinics provide GP primary care services to international protection applicants without access to healthcare. Safetynet has adopted a low threshold and flexible model of care provision. Phone interpreters are available for those without a good command of English.

• Frequency: 5 days per week

• Partners: HSE Social Inclusion (Dublin & Midlands and Dublin & North-East)

• Target group: International protection applicants based in Dublin and Greater Dublin.

Capuchin Clinic 

The Capuchin Clinic provides GP primary care services to marginalised groups and those without access to healthcare, with a particular focus on the Roma community. Safetynet has adopted a low-threshold and flexible model of care provision. Safetynet provides the GP and interpreter service at the Capuchin Day Centre and works alongside the Capuchin nurse. This clinic is also one of the few clinics in the homeless sector that sees children.

Frequency: 4 GP clinics per week

Partners: Capuchin Day Centre & HSE Social Inclusion (Dublin & Midlands)

Target group: Vulnerable adults and children without access to Primary Care. Special focus on the Roma community.

    Arrive before opening times to join the queue. Patients are seen in order of arrival, with a limited number accommodated each day. No appointments available.

Service Access & Opening Times

Who can be seen at the Open Access Clinics:

  • All people who have no access to a GP due to location; finances; or circumstances. This applies to individuals from Ireland or abroad.

  • Anyone who is in the process of applying for their medical card and has no other means of healthcare.
